Simply put, we don't believe we have an equal without driving hours to Big Sky, MT or Jackson Hole, WY, both of which are 1-2 hours further from the park . Life of Riley Lodge is one of the rare few premier residences this close to the main (West) gate of Yellowstone National Park. The lodge is a decades old original Yellowstone style hand-scraped whole log cabin which was completely renovated and newly decorated in 2015. Spanning over 3000 sqft with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, the lodge sleeps 13 guests on 3 king size and 7 twin size Tempur-PedicTM and pillow-top mattresses. We are also among the less than 3% of Yellowstone area rental houses with air conditioning. We are one of the only rentals to provide trash removal service, electronic keypad locks (no lost keys!) and a full exterior CCTV security system for your safety. The Yellowstone basin can get very hot in July/August and we think AC is a must for a luxury vacation. Almost all area rental agreements require that you drop off all your trash at a landfill that is about a 1/2 hour drive each way, make you pick up keys, and require you spend the last day of your vacation laundering linens...inconveniences you will not experience with us! While there are a wide variety of housing options in the Island Park/West Yellowstone area, we are one of the only catering to an authentic yet plush and comfortable Yellowstone vacation experience that takes the rough out of roughing it. With a private shoreline set between towering mountains on bucolic Henry's Lake - this is the area's premier lake if you want to still feel like you are in Yellowstone. Island Park Reservoir, for instance, is in a mostly flat valley frequented by the motorsports crowd, a totally different experience. Bordering Yellowstone at an elevation near 7000 feet, we are located on the private shoreline of Henry's Lake, on the Idaho/Montana border. Henry's is one of the most renowned and award winning trophy fishing lakes in the country due to world class scenery and the Idaho state record for the largest trout caught! Google it!

Drive through the lodge's big gate to park and then immediately soak in the 360 degree waterfront and mountain views. Next, enter the cabin on the 2nd floor which opens to the Great Room and kitchen. The wood burning fireplace towers over two custom dueling American made Bradington & Young distressed leather sofas, the finest hand made rugs, an all hardwood dining table with 10 upholstered chairs and three barstools at the adjoining bar- enough seating for a full house to enjoy meals together. The chef's kitchen has new appliances and is fully outfitted with literally everything you will need to serve a gourmet meal to all of your guests. This all makes the giant great room the main gathering spot and the best room for jaw dropping views.

Continuing upstairs on the 3rd floor is the loft and master suite. The cozy quiet loft is above the fray and is the perfect place to read a book or watch the wildlife on the lake with a giant panoramic view, this is perhaps the most relaxing place in the house. Past the loft is the master bedroom suite. Perfect for the small family with child and completely redone with all new furniture, fixtures, a twin size and a king size bed, both with Tempur-Pedic mattress and Ralph Lauren bedding , the lodge’s largest suite is its finest. Including a stocked large Desk with high-speed WiFi with everything the vacationing executive will need. Within the master suite is the master bath with full bath and multiple head shower. The other half of the suite is complimented by two tweed Churchill recliners and a new 50” Samsung LED TV/BluRay DVD/DirectTV DVR. The king size bed is separated with a partition wall from the twin bed for a little extra privacy, yet still open to one another so that attentive parents can monitor their little one through the night.

Back down to the main floor are two additional king bed suites: the Lodgepole Suite and the Madison Suite and a full bath complete with one of two laundry facilities.

The Madison Suite has views of the lake and Continental Divide mountain range, American made Woolrich and Ralph Lauren bedding, king size Tempur-Pedic mattress and all new furniture and fixtures - easily the lodge's most masculine suite. This suite comes complete with large walk in closet, black velvet chair, and New Zealand Shearling rug.

Next, the Lodgepole Suite with views of the Continental Divide. Very much living up to it’s name, the slightly larger Lodgepole Suite is the lodge’s most rustic. Complete with new American made Woolrich and Ralph Lauren bedding, Pillowtop king size mattress, sitting bench, new fixtures and a brand new 32” Samsung LED TV with BluRay DVD, Direct TV and Wifi. This is the where to sleep for a 100% authentic Yellowstone experience.

Down the stairs and located on the first floor is the 6-bed Bunk Room, 3rd bathroom, gear room, and theater. The theater has a propane fireplace surrounded by a massive 250 yr old timber mantle, new carpet, and new leather furniture and recliner. Decorated with a nod to adventure, science, exploration, and archaeology, the lodge’s theater has a new immersive 70” Samsung LED screen hung above the fireplace, audiophile grade Bose surround sound, Blu-Ray DVD, Direct TV DVR with nearly every channel, and a new HD retro Atari console with all your favorite games from the 70’s and 80’s. Perhaps on those bad weather days the kids will not be the only ones playing video games.

Located behind the theater on the first floor is the Yellowstone Bunk Room with six large private bunks with a view of a small meadow, this is the perfect place to sleep the kids or adults on heavy and safe USA built wood bunks. Featuring both innerspring and memory foam mattresses, no expense was spared on any detail. Warm Pendleton Woolen Mills Heritage Camp Blankets and fleece indian blankets from Oregon adorn each bed, vintage metal and wood Yellowstone signs, and a giant Yellowstone Junior Ranger Fire Brigade locker room themed dressing room-you won't feel like you ever even left the park. Adjoining the bunk room is a big multi-entrance bathroom with rain shower. The Bunk Room can help comfortably accommodate a packed house without the need to share beds. Including a small sofa, 2 matching Samsung LED TVs for gaming and TV viewing at the same time (so no arguing amongst the kids), and new Sony BluRay Playstation 4 with wireless controllers, WiFi, and parent lockable DirectTV content. Life of Riley Lodge tries to go the extra mile by supplying a high-chair, baby gate, board games and enough active indoor and outdoor game options so that your children are guaranteed to go to bed exhausted and content every night.

For our favorite part of the lodge though, look outside under the four giant shade sails and find the main attraction - the lakefront promenade. New outdoor kitchen with XL grill bed, 2 stovetop burners, extra searing grill, lighting, mini fridge and prep table, two 2-person hammocks, duel 150lb cast iron fire-pit pagodas surrounded by tons of adirondack chairs framed against 360 postcard views...you start to understand why the property is categorically superior to all other competition. - Private. Secluded. Secure. Perfect.

The property also includes fenced mature tree lined borders with professionally manicured/lit grounds complimented by a completely paved driveway, oversized sports court. The entire view behind the cabin is of the slopes and granite ridges of part of the Continental Divide shelf. To the front of the cabin is the lodge's private shoreline and combined with the upper wood deck the lodge has over 3000 sqft+ of outdoor living space. Free firewood is included for our guests. If you are wondering, across the lake the BIG snow capped peaks are the Sawtelle mountains but you can also see the Yellowstone and Teton ranges in the distance across the plains on the other side of the lake from our shoreline. No other neighborhoods in the West Yellowstone area have a view of all these mountain ranges except ours. As they say, location location location.
